The benefits of membership in the JLM reach even farther than providing volunteer services to the community. With a membership of more than seven hundred women, we have a rich history of serving the community and developing the leadership potential of women interested in community voluntarism.
Our members find the training they receive as JLM members to be one of the most valuable aspects of their League experience. Some members have used their JLM training, which can range from team leadership to mentoring to communications to fundraising, as a springboard for new careers or for personal growth JLM members also find it beneficial, both professionally and personally, to tap into the extensive network of women that comprise our membership.
Our volunteers are busy women who want to give some precious time and energy back to the community. Although the JLM has specific membership requirements, we also recognize the demands of today's women and believe in flexibility. It's true that most of our members join the JLM because they want to become involved in meaningful community service. However, we've found that most of our members stay in the JLM because of the friendships they have developed and the connections they have made as a result of their League activities.
Often, members remark on the fact that they joined the JLM to give back to the community, but found that the benefits they reaped in return for their voluntarism far outweighed what they ever could have imagined. Thank you for your interest in the JLM!
