Requirements

New Members of the Junior League of Minneapolis participate in a training curriculum before becoming active members of the League. These activities and trainings are designed to educate new members about the JLM, the Minneapolis community and volunteer development, as well as providing opportunities to meet and socialize with other new and active members.

Fall New Member Year

The Fall New Member class begins on August 28, 2010. Formalized training will occur from September through December. During the latter half of the year, from November through May, Fall New Members will actively participate on committees, from fundraisers to projects.

The components of the Fall New Member year are:

• Pay for dues and New Member Course ($200)

• Complete new member registration and submit photo for directory

• Attend all new member training courses (topics may include League Orientation, League Projects, Fundraising & Finances, Community, and History)

• Attend Fall and Spring reviews with New Member Advisor

• Attend 4 of 9 JLM League General Meetings

• Complete all fundraising and community requirements, activities, and staffing shifts

• Attend new member socials

Winter New Member Year

The Winter New Member class begins on January 8, 2011. Formalized training will occur from January through April. New Members will be placed on committees in June 2010 and will actively participate on committees, from fundraisers to projects, at the start of our JLM year on June 1, 2011.

The components of the Winter New Member year are:

• Pay for dues and New Member Course ($135)

• Complete new member registration and submit photo for directory

• Attend all new member training courses (topics may include League Orientation, League Projects, Fundraising & Finances, Community, and History)

• Attend Spring review with New Member Advisor

• Attend 3 of 5 JLM League General Meetings

• Complete all fundraising and community requirements, activities, and staffing shifts

• Attend new member socials
