Message from the President

For 100 years and counting, The Junior League of Minneapolis has trained the women who make things happen in Minneapolis. Our mission of advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training to lead change has improved the lives of those in the greater Minneapolis community, as well as built stronger connections and strengthened collaboration across Minneapolis non-profits.

In 1923, a group of women in Minneapolis came together, bound by their love for our city and desire to help the most vulnerable of its citizens. What emerged was an organization that give the civic-minded women of Minneapolis an opportunity to roll up their sleeves and make Minneapolis better by helping those who needed it most.

Today, our volunteer work is focused on the opportunity gap and what we can do in our community to ensure all Minneapolis children have the access and support they need to thrive.

We offer unique opportunities for personal growth through leadership development and training, community service, and lifelong connections.  By welcoming all women, our organization thrives through its membership’s diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences.

As we celebrate our centennial anniversary and prepare for our next century of service, I am grateful for your interest in, and support of, our organization.  I encourage you to learn more about the Junior League of Minneapolis by exploring our website or by contacting me directly.  Whether you choose to make a donation, sponsor our projects and programs, become a community partner, or join our membership, your support of our mission will ensure that we continue to deepen our impact in Minneapolis and transform our volunteers into civic leaders.

Merry Lucas Schmitt
