Message from the President

For more than 100 years, The Junior League of Minneapolis has been developing the women who make a difference in our community. Through our mission of advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training to lead change, we have helped improve lives across the greater Minneapolis area while fostering stronger partnerships and collaboration throughout the nonprofit sector.

Our story began in 1923, when a group of civic-minded women came together, united by their love for Minneapolis and a desire to serve its most vulnerable residents. What emerged was an organization that empowered women to take action, address community needs, and create lasting change. More than a century later, that spirit of service and leadership continues to guide our work.

Today, our volunteer efforts are focused on strengthening families and supporting caregivers throughout our community. Through direct service, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, we help build the resources, connections, and support systems that enable families and caregivers to thrive. By investing in those who care for others, we are creating stronger, more resilient communities for generations to come.

The Junior League of Minneapolis also provides unique opportunities for personal growth through leadership development, volunteer service, and lifelong connections. By welcoming women from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, we cultivate a dynamic membership that strengthens both our organization and the community we serve.

As we embark on our second century of service, I am grateful for your interest in and support of The Junior League of Minneapolis. I invite you to learn more about our work by exploring our website, attending an event, or reaching out to connect with us directly.

Whether you choose to make a donation, sponsor a program, partner with us in service, or join our membership, your support helps advance our mission and expand our impact across Minneapolis. Together, we can continue building a stronger community and developing the leaders who will shape its future.

With gratitude,

Jeni Ness
President 2026-28
