A message from the Junior League of Minneapolis

posted on

The Junior League of Minneapolis denounces any and all forms of racism and intolerance. The past few weeks and days have been hard as we, along with our community, are faced with the realities of institutional racism, violence, and injustice in our country against Black Americans.

We are here to support our members who are struggling to deal with anger, fear, disappointment, and uncertainty as a result of these realities. JLM stands by each of you.

As an organization of strong, dedicated women committed to building better communities, we must recognize these human rights issues and take them seriously. As leaders in our community, we stand for education, justice, and action.

Now more than ever, it is critical that we speak out against racism, educate ourselves, engage in difficult conversations, and learn from one another. We are stronger together when we live our values of diversity, community, respect, and service.

This is only the beginning of what will be a long and difficult conversation of action and change to create a safer community that values human dignity. I invite you to join your fellow JLM members in this conversation.
